アメリカ人に、「日本に帰ると、私はMサイズの服を買わないといけない」という話をすると、ウソでしょーと言われる。誰も信じてくれない。

A survey by Wacoal Japan revealed that the body size of the Japanese females in their 20's has been approaching to the "ideal," compared to the data taken 10 years ago. The average height is 158 cm (5'2), which is about the same as 10 years ago, suggesting that the growth in height that had been observed after the second World War, came to an end. 261 females who were born in 1970's participated, and the data were compared with the survey 10 years ago on females who were born in 1960's. The average weight had decreased to 49.7 kg (approximately 100 Lb), .7 kg lighter. Body fat also has decreased. As a result the percentage of people who falls into "thin" category, defined by the Japan Society for the Study of Obesity, has increased from 19% to 24%. The hip circumference measurement has not changed, however, the waist and the thigh measurements have decreased by 1cm.
